How do I edit an old post?

You can't. After a certain amount of time you cannot alter or edit old posts. The only people who can are moderators. If what you want changed isn't too complicated you can always ask one of us to do it for you.

Also, you could take a look at my new blog entry about Always Updateable Thread. Using this little trick; images, you can always change your posts and threads as long as you still have the image. No post editing required; only offline editing and uploading.
