Part 1. A trip to the shopping centre

Lucy felt the buzz of the mobile in the pocket of her short denim skirt as she stepped off the bus.
‘Ring me when you get to the lockers x'
She quickly tapped out her reply ‘OK. Shouldn’t be long I’m just across from Waverley Mall now.

10 minutes later her phone rang.
‘What's taking ya so long? Chickened out?’ said Katy on the other end
‘Sorry, they’ve moved the Amazon locker. Used to be by the food bit, right next to the loos, but now its back up by the bit where I came in but I missed it entirely and I’ve just had to walk the length of the building and back. Nearly there now, though.’
Lucy walked the last few yards to the big yellow Bank of lockers. Katy read her the code for her to input and one of the doors popped open.
Lucy was somewhat surprised to see five packages, having expected one or two. ‘What have you been buying me?’
Katie laughed and got her to describe the packages –three were in bags, the other two were boxes. She had her friend open the smaller box first.
‘A phone stand?’ said Lucy
‘Aye. I want you to face time me, so I can check you actually do the dares
‘Bitch'
‘Ha, you love it ya wee slut.’
She was right, of course. Lucy did love it. The thought of what she was about to do was getting her wet.
‘Now get the other stuff and set up the phone so I can see ya' said Katie
‘Here?’
‘Aye. You said yoursel’ it was a fair trek back to the toilets. Oh and don't shut the locker just yet.’

Katie's last instruction sounded ominous. Lucy thought she knew exactly where this was heading. Lucy looked around. The mall was very quiet. Many of the shops at this end of the store were shut due to the Coronavirus. The lockers were kind of hidden in a corner by the escalator – hence Lucy completely missing them when she first came in despite them being bright orange. The unit immediately opposite which is the only one with a direct view of the lockers had been empty since even before that.
It still felt a bit too open. The she noticed that there was a space down the side, a sort of wee alcove formed by the lockers, the escalator and the wall where she could be hidden.
She set up the stand with her phone, conscious that the longer it took, the more likely someone would come round the corner and wonder what she was up to. Finally she had it set and face timed her friend.
She stepped back into the alcove and opened the other box. A pair of stilettos. Of course. She looked at her friend grinning back at her from the phone screen. Then she opened the bags bags. The first was a black mask that would cover the top half of her face. It looked a bit like what Batman or Catwoman might wear, but with large bunny ears instead. She rolled her eyes. She’d stipulated that the dare should include a mask and whilst this might help hide her identity it did also attract a fair bit of attention by itself. Next was a pair of fishnet tights. And finally the main part of her new outfit – the bunnygirl tux. A black strapless thong bodysuit with a cute little pom pom tail. The look completed with matching white cuffs and a collar with attached bow tie.

Lucy took a deep breath and slipped off her trainers. She was trying not to look at her friend as she did so. Katie was both obviously turned on and finding it hilarious. She stared out with a smirk playing across her face, her blue eyes flashing delight and desire.

She was aware that the mall was starting to get busier. For the first time she was aware of people looking her way. How much had they seen? She also had to think just how she was getting home. The lack of the normal crowds during Festival month would mean fewer people, but her get up would invite rather more stares from those who were about. At least if the fringe was on people might try to avoid her for fear that she might try to offer them a flyer and try to convince them to see some avant garde performance in a poorly ventilated back room of a pub.
She flushed a deep red behind the mask and started the walk back to the bus stop, her high heels clacking against the floor...
