Young girls in men's toilet

How old is too old for a girl to be taken into a men's toilet?

I'm only asking because yesterday there was a girl of around 6-8 in a
toilet I used, with her father, and I didn't realise until they walked
out past me while I was using the urinal.

I don't think it's a big deal though, as long as they are with a responsible adult. I'm sure he would not let her get close enough to a urinal to see anything. If he was not comfortable letting her go to the female toilet on her own, what else could he do?

untill they are old enough to be left outside the bathroom alone. or go off on their own in a store safely. Depends on the area

As a gay man unsure about having children, this question has actually occurred to me before, along with similar ones. Personally, I think it's up to the parent to decide how comfortable they are with their child; whether it be taking a daughter into the men's room, or letting her go alone into the women's room.

Although I've noticed that many places now also include "family restrooms," which is definitely another option if it is available.

This actually happened to me not long ago. I walk in and there's a little girl with her dad.

Even though I wasn't doing anything wrong, it really sure felt like I was in the wrong. It's pretty awkward but I guess it doesn't happen often.

And I would rather she be safe than for her not to go the the toilet or for her to be left outside. But at what age can you leave a child outside for a couple seconds?
Well that's not an easy question to answer. I guess it depends on the child?

I know what the poster means and it can be uncomfortable but whe you are the parent and going in to a ladies toilet even with a little girl who wants to go, you have no choice, I know from experience. And it doesn't help that you know how uncomfortable any man inside is going to be.
any decent parent takes the child into a cubicle and goes in with them or if they are old enough stands guard outside but trust me its not fun either way for any one but a toilet to a child is a toilet, they don't care so long as they go.
