The suggestion would be ok, if not of the other use of the room. That room is used (at least I think it is used) as a room to ask for dares and to find someone. If it was only used as a place to find people interested in a S/M relationship then yes, making it 18+ would be a great idea.

As far as I understand, including little teasers from various mods online; under 18s are fine to use the room as long as they are not specifically looking for a S/M relationship as that is what the Slave/Master section is for.

Also, it would be difficult to control as there are some 11 year olds on the site listed as being over 30. And you can't just ban someone because they appear to be under 18.

Good idea, but not practical as the system is currently in place. I think before this idea is visited; more needs to be done about the Lounge being used as the dare slave room and the dare slave room being used as the lounge.

i agree with the person above me, you could make it 18 plus only but you couldnt enforce it, similar to under 18s viewing the over 18 mature stories, theres no point in trying because no matter what you do to enforce age, someone can get around it. infact im pretty sure the only reason the getdare staff even TRY and enforce the 18 and over rule as far as posting an add is because if they didnt theyd get in trouble with the law, and you see how many 18 yr old posts there are (that many 18 yr olds on getdare? yea i bet...) lol accidentally got off topic there, but it further illustrates my point, the rule can be made, the enforcement can not.

(of course i'll freely admit im prejudice because i am under 18 and enjoy going in there lol, but it doesnt make my point any less valid)

I think the real problem here is the room itself. What exactly is it's purpose? Make it 18+ and allow the people searching in there to talk normally, problem solved.

as "getdare" and "kinktalk" are some kind of partner sites, why isn't it possible to install a chat at kinktalk, it is only allowed to sign up at kinktalk, if you are 18, so all members in the chat would be over 18.

Only an idea.

It is really difficult for us to control who sees what, and who doesn't on the internet. If a section is barricaded off for those 18+, it would only make more youngsters want to create older accounts, just to participate. Reality says; How many teens go through their 'minor' years without having seen some form of pornography?

As to what the room is for, its original purpose was for a 'game' where one person is basically taking in all the dares. Everyone else in the room would either be negotiating the dare, giving it out, or just watching.

Over the years however, it has now become a secondary lounge, and sometimes a place where RP/ TorD games would go on.

The chat rules are only there as a guideline. People change as they continue to interact with one another, and we don't want to place any unnecessary boundaries on the members. Generally, if a moderator asks for you to do something however, (that contradicts with the values of the site), we would expect that you listen, or politely question it if it is unreasonable.

@story_freak: KinkTalk is undergoing MAJOR upgrades and it will definitely have a chat in the near future.

There is no way to know for sure who is a fake, and who isn't.

Not to dampen your comment RockNroll1_1, but I don't believe 'most' users are fake. I'm sure there are some out there, but there are plenty of 'real girls' around.

You cannot possibly be sure "most" members on this site are fake, I can assure you that isn't true.
And we can't go around banning people we are "suspicious" of. If they've done no wrong, and if they aren't actually fake it would be completely unfair of us to ban them.
