Hey so this is random... In many ways... Random site for this sort of thing, and random thing to post on this sort of site... But, hey, why not?

I was a Master Mason of a Freemason lodge, I demitted some time ago when I just couldn't handle it personally and mentally.

If anyone has questions about Freemasonry, well, AMA.

INB4 "secret society" - no, it's not a secret society, it's obviously very public. Some of us refer to it as "a society with secrets".

Yes, there's words and handshakes and stuff, as one would assume.

And yes, you can find a lot of stuff online.

I won't answer anything I shouldn't (which is very little, tbh). There are secrets about Freemasonry, but it's not what you might think. In fact, you can find the bylaws publicly available online for your local jurisdiction. The "secrets" aren't secret at all, but the means of them are (i.e. yes, there's secret handshakes - that's public - but how and when to do it is not).

Also, no goats are involved.
