check the rules, the rule about spelling is directly against l33t speek

5. Use proper grammar as best you can. "AOL speak" may get your posts removed. (ex: d0 u w4nt ne darez d00d?)

{ok was going to write a whole thing there about e.g. vs ex, but it started to confuse me so i couldn't be bothered}

It's not talking about the odd mistake. It's against your type of posts, where every single word is an abomination to the english language as it is currently known.

I feel sad that at the moment, the rules are not being enforced.

Congratulations! A rep has been sent for your excellence in two areas.

1) Finding support for the action here
2) Supporting the "Bring Back Demonoid" action

I wonder how would someone feel when receiving a PM:
"U'v3 b33n b4nn3d b3(4us3 ur stup!d !d!0t!c A0L typ!ng!. Th3 st4ff"

By the way we shouldn't be very very strict, noticed once the "u"=you. I use it very often and it is not an internet related thing (remember the t-shirts "I V U!" or remember IOU="I owe you"=a kind of receipt or something (a common english world).

A vocabulary making you drink a beer to finish reading a sentence=yes, garbage!

a thrown "u" or "btw" = it is normal.

And people: use mozilla: it has a corrector included

Brownie and others: for people not good in English (brownie, just noticed your post above): google is FULL of translators. Try at least http://google.com/translate_t before writing a post that you probably want others to understand what you are trying to say. I don't try to be mean, it's just a helping suggestion.

Well that's true... and no one is really strict anyway... Just look at how long time Brownie survived without a ban

Words such as lol, btw, brb and stuff have become a normal part of our vocabulary. I also occasionally use "u" "Ur" and stuff on chats. I try not to, though.

@brownie Lol! Name me one person using commas. At least using correctly (except stories I think). And use them correctly in some specific complicated grammar situations.

I know that, even when a text seems written correctly, some commas might appear (even they are optional in some grammar situation and even a graduated student cannot tell exactly about some cases).

But no one is talking about commas.

I actually don't know if I use commas right I never learned that. I just use them wherever I feel it sounds right.

well brownie I still cant understand what are you talking about, but anyway this got to an example of better trying to make the post to be understandable by anyone. It's hard, I do about 5 edits on each post of mine.

So what was about the ' ? used instead of "? Skipped in words like "It's"?

Those are used for words normally... Like Pokémon... Indicating how a word is pronounced.

On the other hand, {']'s are used for I'm or Isn't or whatever... But you'll have to learn about english grammar for that..

But then again... You already know this stuff

They're apostrophes they allow you to write words like they are as a shortened word "they're"
They also stop confusion (when used properly between) its and it's.

I personally like them.

It kinda grinds my gears a bit when i read won't written as wont, i mean you're bringing the words will not down two four letters how hard is it to add an apostrophe!

--edit--
damn you strawberry for typing faster than me! xox <-- does the o in these things mean hug does anyone know?
