Ok, just so everyone's clear 'cause this is pissing me off too. If you can't do the dare because it's too late or you don't have something, wait until you can or find a substitute.

I don't think a universal punishment is the solution is the solution though. That takes some of the fun out of it.

Feelin', if no one's given you a punishment yet, get a banana and a pack of condoms or a tube of KY and stand at the counter of a store with the objects conspicuously in your hands. Pretend to think for a bit, then put the banana back and grab a cucumber. Go to the counter again and pretend to look through your wallet. Make a sad face and put everything back.
Do this when you can. If you must, go to a store where no one knows you.
