Incorrect. My clue could have been misleading. Think about how books were used in school, and how it could apply to the image on the right. The answer will combine both.
In addition, for clue 1 reverse image search should prove helpful For clue 4, think about a river that can be described by the arrows. Last edited by sciencegal; 02-12-2018 at 06:46 PM. Reason: Helping Marv out. Thanks for being so active :) |

I know Marv is still trying hard, but it seems that the interest has plummeted here. If the puzzle is still unsolved by Wednesday morning, I'll solve it for you. My Valentine's gift to you
This will also be the last puzzle that I will post for a while. As the interest has diminished significantly, I will be taking an extended hiatus after this puzzle is solved. I may or may not revive this in the future with new puzzles. |

Hey Sammy - thanks for jumping back in.
I agree the type of aircraft is likely a Lockheed Vega, but whether that is itself the answer I have just about given up wondering about! |

I'm hoping it was just a simple one that went over our heads lol. The other two are unlikely but wanted to put something there

You and Sammy are right about the Vega, but that is not the answer. Remember what the arrow is pointing at. |

A few last ditch hints.
1. Think about the arrow and what it's pointing at. The Vega is the craft, but not the answer. 3. I think everyone over-complicated this one. The books refer to education. 4. This hint will be a bit obvious, but think about a river that could be described by the arrows. Widespread, large, ... |

1. ICES (as in internal combustion engines)
4. EYEFUL Number 3 is the one I've been stuck on for a while, even reverse engineering it from the (probable) film name has gotten me nowhere. Unless the answer is Lois Mcguire or Loitergraph Anyways, I really must get some sleep, I've spent far too long staring at this this evening... Good luck to anyone else still trying.

For 1, the answer will be the make of the engine. |

So it must be WASP, since neither Wright (Whirlwind) nor Pratt and Whitney (Wasp was a model of engine) will fit.
(Plane geek since I was a pup, which is how I spotted the Vega early on.) |
