When I used to live in Canada, I found a random stray dog out in the middle of no where and decided to take him in. He stayed with me for a month before his actual owners came and took him. I usually hate most animals but I didn't hate him because he was super nice to me. That was the only pet I had but I eventually want to get another dog in the future.
