Part 5
(Who's the Marie?) Morning Glory

I awoke completely differently to how I had gone to sleep. I had drifted off to sleep with Clara lying next to me relaxed, albeit wearing just a nappy and shouldering bitter memories. I had awoken with a panic.

Something was very, very wrong with this whole crazy situation. And it had just got a little bit wrong-er. My hands had been tied up and connected to each top bed post while my feet were strongly bound to the bottom bed posts. The whole bed had been propped up at an angle so I was held diagonally up facing the bedroom door. My nappy had duct tape wrapped thickly round it so anything in it had no chance of escape whatsoever.

Naturally, it was terribly humiliating.

Clara walked in with a smile on her face. "Day One!" she said, with a relish.

"What the hell --?" I began. But Clara shushed me and I realised, with terror the situation I was in.

"No questions, is what I said, I believe... And you'll have to do exactly what I say because otherwise those incriminating photos of you, they're going global. It takes just one click of a button, or rather, one toe out of line on your behalf."

"How did you get me like this?"

"What? Oh, all tied up... I gave you a sleeping pill in your drink last night. And remember, NO QUESTIONS. At least not until the bitter end."

She brandished two clothes pegs and attached them to each nipple. I understood: if I broke her crazy rules there would be consequences to pay. She paced up and down for a bit then suddenly the doorbell rung. She did not seem alarmed at all. She had clearly been expecting the doorbell She exited the room to greet whoever it was involved in the game.

I struggled with my ropes but it was in vain. Having been forced to do a boring activity at a community club once, Clara was a surprisingly good expert at knots, while my knowledge extended no where beyond tying laces. For now, my prison was tmy bed and I had nothing I could do about it.

Clara re-entered the room with a curious look on her face. She looked happy which I doubted meant anything good for me.

"For my whole plan to work, you're going to have to account for some past sins."

"Past sins?" I said in disbelief, "What past sins? I've never done anything wrong to you!"

"No questions! Do you want me to give you a laxative pill, 'cos I will!"

"No... I'm sorry."

"Now, is there anything you've ever felt really guilty about? Something you wished you'd never done? Something you've frequently confided in me? Something you wish you could be forgiven for? Something you wish you'd never done?"

Truth be told, there was something, and I had a feeling that what I was thinking was exactly what Clara had been getting at. I had had a girlfriend called Marie. We hadn't been going out for too long but we'd flitted around each other with crushes for quite a long period of time. Then one day, there had been a party and in a drunken stupour my idiot self started kissing another girl. Marie had walked in on it, ran out in tears, and hated me ever since. I had always felt so guilty about it but had never even had the courage to even apologise to her. Naturally, that had just made her hate me even more.

"I greet you with your hell-bent on revenge ex-girlfriend!"

And none other than Marie walked into the room, with one of the most evil glints in an eye that I had ever seen.

"I've been waiting for a very, very long time for this," she said simply.

"I'll live you too alone," said Clara, "I've got some thing to get." And Clara left the room leaving just Marie and me. However bad things had been, things were about to get a whole lot worse...

Sorry, this part was supposed to include all the things that Marie does to the poor old protagonist but I decided to have it as an introductory chapter to what follows. The next part shouldn't be all that long at all, anyway...
