Fiction: Escape Room

Today was James 19th birthday. James was on his way to downtown with his close friend Henry and his cousin Emily. Tonight they are going to do a new escape room which opened up the night before. The escape room theme is horror, on the outside of the old factory building there are old looking dolls hung from ropes attached to the windows. The place looks spooky and not somewhere you would go.

As they pay to go in they agree to hand over any phones and other technology to help keep what's inside the escape room a secret. They hand over phones and bags and they start the escape room.

The three enter the first room, as they enter they hear the loud locks lock behind them and the lights dimmer creating a dark and spooky atmosphere. A scroll drops through the ceiling dropping in front of James. He picks it up and unravels it...

" Welcome to zone 1 : to start you must open the treasure chest across the room and put on the costume. Replace them with your own clothes and then close the chest. Once this is done you can move on to zone 2... We will be watching... always! "

Henry is the first one to walk over to the chest after James reads out from the scroll. He pulls out an old looking black dress torn and dusty. "Well this one is for you Emily." Henry throws Emily the dress. She turns her back to them and slips off her top and jeans revealing her black lacy matching bra and panties and throws on the dress. It comes just half way between her hips and knees.

Henry then pulls out 2 more black things... They are the same dress as Emily is wearing... "it looks like we are wearing matching clothes" says Emily. James goes red with embarrassment where as Henry just laughs and just takes off his top and jeans and throws on the black dress. Henry is roughly the same size as Emily so it fits him the same revealing his skinny hairy legs.

James quickly turns his back and removes his top and jeans and puts on the dress... James is A lot taller than than Henry and Emily and the dress comes alot higher up his legs, revealing is muscular legs.

They all put their clothes in the chest and close it. As it shuts they hear a click, Henry tried lifting it up again but it was locked.

They all hear a loud noise coming from across the room, the other door is now open and they can get into zone 2...

As they enter into zone 2 they notice a strange smell. It smelt like a dirty damp alley way like stale piss. James held his nose as Henry went to read a letter which was placed on the table in front of them. Henry reads the letter aloud...

"Welcome to zone 2! As you can tell by the smell this is going to be a messy one. There are 3 containers on the floor each with a hole big enough to stick your hand through. Only 1 container will have the key to unlock the door to zone 3. Good luck."

"I will go first" says Henry. He walks towards the middle container and sticks his hand though the hole. As he sticks his hand though he screams in horror... He has just put his hand in some sort of poo.

Henry is brave and starts to look around for the key using his hand but is having no look. At this point Emily prepares for the container on the left. She puts her hand into a fowl smelling container full of a warming liquid... A container full of piss. She doesn't realise at first what it was when she does she throws her hand straight out and runs around in disgust.

James puts his hands in the last container... it's very slimey but he finds the key, he pulls his hand out and they all look to see and his hand is covered in a whitish liquid... James nearly throws up but the most important thing is that he has the key!

James unlocks the door and they all enter zone 3.

This room is completely different from the others, it's like a huge assault course. There's a sign on the wall...

"Welcome to zone 3. Challenge yourself through this course and make it to zone 4... If you fail you may find yourself in an unwanted position"

The first part of the course is 2 walls close together. Sticking out of the walls are sharp spikes. With Emily leading the way the three slowly start to move between the walls dodging the spikes. Half way through James is at the back and unaware his dress gets caught up on one of the spikes and rips the dress clean off him. He's now standing there in just his black tight boxers and his shoes. His face is bright red and very embarrassed. The other two turn around and start laughing.

They get past the walls and now face ladders. The three quickly climb up the ladders with James now ignoring the fact he's just in his underwear. They come across some monkey bars with a big drop...

A sign on the wall says "drop and you will fail and face the penalty!"

The three of them start to sweat slightly as the grip hold of the first bar. James is the strongest out of the three, so he is able to get across them without much struggle. Henry slowly shuffles through the bars to the other side. Emily starts to make her way across as she does she feels something funny near her feet she looks down and her shoes are starting to slip off. She panics and tries to quickly get across. On the last bar she feels something fall... both of her shoes slip off and fall down the drop but luckily Emily makes it across without falling herself.
