Challenge other getDare members to a Pokémon fight—loser does whatever the winner wants! (Within limits, of course). Even if you've never played Pokémon before, Pokémon Showdown makes it easy to get started. That's because you don't need to make your own team! Showdown lets you challenge your opponent to a Random Battle, in which you fight each other using a random pre-made team (all of which are really unique and interesting). For those of you who are already Pokémon masters, Showdown also lets you create and save your own Pokémon team. Then, you can send your team into battle in one of many competitive formats. Or, if you're like me and you don't care about standard format guidelines, just opt for a Custom Battle.

Here's how it works:

1) Search Pokémon Showdown on the internet, or just go to http://play.pokemonshowdown.com (there is also a downloadable version available on the website)

2) In the upper right-hand corner, you can choose your own name and your preferred settings.

3) If you want to save your name, settings, rating, and Pokémon teams, go to the settings (gear icon) and click "register" (at the bottom of the settings). It just asks you to enter a password and then verify that you're human by typing the name of a Pokémon (which I think is always Pikachu). Then you can log in using this name whenever you want, just go to the settings when you open the website.

4) Enter the lobby chatroom (you may have to click "join chat" first, if you're on a tablet)

5) Scroll through the names to find somebody you want to challenge (like another getDare member), then click their name and say "challenge". You can chat first, to determine a dare for the loser, or rules for the fight, etc. When you're ready, choose the type of battle you want (and your team, if you didn't choose Random Battle) and click Challenge.

6) Fight! You can click on an attack to see what it does, then click it again to use it. If you want to switch Pokémon, you can click them once to check out their stats, type, and attacks, then click them again to switch out. You can also check out your opponent's Pokémon by clicking on it, to see it's type(s) and possible abilities. Check your own current Pokémon by clicking on it, too.

If you want to create your own team, go to TeamBuilder. The rest is up to you... but if you want advice on creating a team, I'll be glad to help Just ask.

Some dare ideas for when you challenge other gD members:

- Pokémon dares! (see Person Above Pokémon Dares)
- Slave for an hour, or a day, or a week
- Something for every Pokémon that fainted, like denial for a day (this encourages forfeiting before the match is over though)
- A dare for each Pokémon the winner has left (stolen from Collared's Strip Pokémon thread)
- Lose an article of clothing for each Pokémon that faints (also stolen from Collared's Strip Pokémon thread)
- Anything within limits!

To make it easier for everybody to find you, please have "gD" in front of your name! Also post your name here so other people can find you and challenge you.
