This totally might have already been brought up, so if it has, my bad.

I think it would be a good idea to make it possible to italicize or bold a single word in chat, instead of your entire message. Not sure if that's a real possibility, but hopefully it is.

Being able to italicize or a bold one word will help convey more of the meaning, especially if you're using sarcasm as that can be really difficult to detect unless it's really obvious.

Just a thought.

You can always use brackets or quotes to emphasize. You was italicized, can was in bold and always underlined. I am not sure that works.

I agree! I always want to do that instead of capitalizing certain words. And she meant in chat, where you can only choose to change the entire line rather then specific words :P

I think it would just be easier to understand someone's meaning when they can emphasize a specific word
