Whatever happened to... member verification?

A while back, I seem to recall there was an idea for the forum which would allow members to verify their gender when signing up. Has this been forgotten, or is it still going to happen?

Just wondered.

I really don’t think this is possible or practical, how would you assure the validity of such checks? Also for those people determined to be deceitful, it could result in just providing a false level of confidence.

Identity is usually validated by using credit cards through independent third party specialist payment sites. I doubt if that would be a practical solution on getDare.

This exactly. We can do this for some extent by showing on web cam. But we can fake it too and most of the people here don't own web cams or they don't like to turn it on. If not, we have to scan our birth certificate and send it to mods. Well, if they really start something like this, I'm god damn sure the number of member registrations per day will dramatically go down.
