What do you think?
NOW first off I will start by saying I mean no disrespect at all to anyone of any faith. I am curious as to the oppinions of the getdare comunity. NOTE: you need not give a reason if you don't want to for this thread.
All I want to know is... 1.) Do you think that a mosque (sorry if misspelled) should be built in New York City 2 blocks away from ground zero (a.k.a the spot of the world trade center collapse) 2.) Answered only if desired WHY or WHY NOT For me I respectfuly say no to the idea, mainly because of the fact that I think that 2 blocks is to close and it could cause problems for the the temple if people were to turn against it being there. If we deny the building of the mosque, that undermines all of our beliefs as a country. The fact that people from a troubled country almost ten years ago flew a plane into buildings (yes it was a bad thing, I know) should not stop the mosque from being built two blocks away. If it was going to be on ground zero, that might be pushing even my buttons (perhaps - I'm not sure) but it's not. This is about freedom of religion and the right to worship where and how we please, so long as it doesn't harm any other individual. This doesn't, therefore it should be allowed.

Does, "I don't care either way" work as a response?
Because that's my feeling...

This question bothers me because the mosque being built there is clearly not a good thing. Many New Yorkers are against it for their own reasons, most just because they hate muslims for attacking their city. Of course, one innocent mosque has no connections to that radical sect.
However, we HAVE to allow the Mosque to be built there because that's what our country stands for. At the end of the day that's what we have to remember and rise above our personal or patriotic grudges.

I believe it would be unwise. I have no hard feelings against it being built because it is not as if it is being built by thoes who were responsible. I feel that it is unwise because it would bring about some very raw and hateful emotions from the families of thoes lost and of the survivors. Some people, like myself, will have realised this and not turn hateful eyes towards this proposition, but others will not feel the same.
