I was just surfing through the new posts and just saw this.
It was done to me by a girlfriend who very much Dom although she is not mine.

I have never tried it myself, I've seen them though.

One way I've seen it used is for someone with to have the top of the hook tied with some rope to the end of their hair so they have to keep facing up and arching their back.

My long curly hair comes down to just a few inches above my hip since I've let it grow out a lot. I'd imagine if I ever tried one that would be the thing that jumped to mind.
