Participate, sure, but posting the obvious...?! Betty gave you an answer to a question you asked, and it was helpful to you (and maybe others who read it). But your reply afterwards was, what I call anyway, a "conversation stopper". You said "I don't need to do that then". That's just obvious and doesn't contribute in the slightest to the conversation. If you'd asked a further question, or left it, it would've been fine. It can also be seen as a post count bumper, as with "I'm not from Scotland". Neverrrrrr.
