Bringing people together

Life is about connection...
Connection of people, connection of ideas, connection of people to objects haha
We all try to find links to something that makes us happy, for me it was books, computer games...action figures...
Later I discovered people, drinking, socialising, acting, work
Later still I found kink, Fetlife, GetDare...my last few months on this site have been my best and it's the fun, the exploration...that comes from the people here, this is a community after all...maybe not everyone who uses the site thinks that way, or see's it, but it's a solid fact...
Yes, the community can be disjointed, sometimes people fall out, some come and go, but a lot of us stick around.
I have finally found that being active pays off here, but it's being active in many ways that make the most difference.
When I first got here, I focused on finding people who shared my kinks, embarking on rather harmless play and only really dipping my toe into the GD pool...
I am amazed at how doing different parts of the site introduce you to new people, Chat has it's crowd and can be very interesting or just a good laugh, it also brings it's games so you can have fun
Giving people dares can sometimes bring a connection, but quite rarely, AMA's and truths are a good way to show people what you are like but again don't often bring connection to others.
PM'ing of course is a direct connection, but without clear purpose on either side it tends not to last
Loser has to threads can bring some fun, but again...often fleeting
Hosting games can get you known, creating creative threads also...but on it's own isn't enough...
Requesting TorD can be fun, but only if you have friends here already really.
I have even found blogging can get you noticed...
Then there was Kittenlicks and his Trading Card game, inspired idea! I have connected with members I have never spoken to before and even though it may not build lasting friendships on here, at least it's got people talking to each other
I want to continue to make friends on this site and if you are reading this blog and trying to think of ways to do that too...my advice, try out a bit of everything, you never know who you will meet
Most importantly, do not just take in this community, give something back, and over time you will see the rewards...as long as what you are giving back are not random dare requests or trying to Dom strangers...those are dick moves...and will only get you ignored or disliked...
But everyone, let's build this community, have fun and make this place a haven for those who have different interests from all the boring 'normal' people in the world!
