I have a driving need to dissect things I don't understand. If someone has any insight and would care to explain the following, I would be much obliged.

I am aware that this post may appear to mimic another recent post. That is not accidental. But this is not intended as a forum to discuss the particular shortcomings represented there. So please no attacking other members. These are just things I started wondering and I'd like to have a legitimate discussion about them.

On being dug

"He really digs you."

A friend said that to me about a mutual friend. I felt myself pulling back. Which is weird because that's a flattering thing to be told. And he is a really awesome guy.

Maybe I just have trouble believing that someone could "dig" me. I do pretty much always believe deep down that I'm inferior. No matter what evidence I may have to the contrary.

And I think it scared me a little. A statement like that says to me that...

Words: Grool

Ok, so this one may not be a semantics blog. But it's still word themed!

I found out about a new word today.
Quote:
grool = girl drool. Grool is not squirting. It is the lube that women produce when they are sexually aroused. Some girls have clear grool and some girls have creamy grool.

Source: Urban Dictionary
That's a terrible word to describe something that's really awesome. This is what I picture when I hear grool:

Words: Training

I was having a discussion with a local dom and he said this (I had just said something slightly smartass, but it was actually an issue of semantics for me. Which is usually a big issue for me.)
Quote:
I would never think of you as bratty, but in need of a lot of retraining.
Edit 2/4/15: To be fair to him, we were in the beginning stages of talking and I hadn't revealed that I identify as a brat yet.

This is the ranty irritated response that rolled in my head. Instead of...

Words: Let's Argue Semantics

Words: Now you're just Arguing Semantics

I like words a lot. And certain words mean certain things to me. Sometimes those words mean other things to other people.

Quote:
Now you're just arguing semantics
I don't know how many times I've heard this. And you know what I wanna say? Yeah, because we're using words.

I'm not REALLY a submissive

Background story: When I was a pretty much just starting on this site, I received a perfectly nice message from a dom on this site asking if I would be interested in being his slave. I responded with:

Quote:
I'm flattered. Do you mind if I ask what sparked your interest in me?

Lol, and I'm afraid I'm not interested in being a "slave" currently. I think, technically, I would be classified as a "bottom" right now.

I already have a few playmates,

I am not owned

Maybe it's just that objectification isn't my thing. But I've never liked the idea of being "owned" or viewed as property. I certainly don't see myself as a slave. I've just barely come to terms with identifying as a submissive.

And I see being owned as far too passive of a state for me to be willing to assume. An object does not need to do anything to be owned. I consider my submission much more active than that.

So I prefer the word belong. To me, belong means...
