School uniforms. They are great if they are neatly designed. Unfortunately, Malaysia has no sense of fashion, =_=, or professionalism.

Actually most schools are shifting policy here in the US towards uniforms, as the research tends to show uniforms equal better academic results. It also is a measure against bullying, which most schools are also against.

I don't support uniforms. But not for the reasons you would think about. Yes, uniforms are important to manage your students properly without much hassle, and that is why I like them. However, in the real world we don't use uniforms, and students need to learn how to present themselves properly outside of 'school'. This is different than your weekend outing with friends. During work, you need to know what is acceptable and what is overly done or infact, not professional enough. And we should be able to learn them from a young age.

I did a debate on this last year in my school..!!
Uniform is "Uni+Form" Uni here means similarity. Every child is equal in the school. Some people are from rich families while others are not and school uniform ensures that there is no injustice done to anyone on the basis of the financial status.
It makes everyone equal. Simple enough..Posted 03-24-2010 at 03:39 AM by Mere
