Good luck....
Good luck Pingu!
And from what I've heard about people moving to a new Uni, they've said it's just like freshers week! Just have a great time getting to know everyone and you'll be fine!
And good luck everyone elsePosted 09-06-2010 at 08:13 AM by Stix -
Good luck....
I should be getting ready to leave but I am reluctant. I don't want to do work, it's been too long.Posted 09-06-2010 at 12:22 AM by BettyBoop -

Who are you?
I am 32 (since last week); my name is François and I live in Canada, Quebec. I am as genuine as they come - WYSIWYG. But I am a storyteller - and my stories are fiction.
I fully relate to your situation, Pingu, but I don't fret it. I have nothing to hide, no dark secrets that could come and haunt me, that I would need to deny or that could cause me shame. I'm a man, as flawed as any man can be, and I'm here because I enjoy the company, and I enjoy writing stories, whatever format, for people who like reading them.Posted 04-17-2009 at 09:36 PM by interesting -
Who are you?
Well obviously, I am Pingu in disguise. So, yup.
I am 14/15 fifteen in 14 days.
I want the present, I'm in the tree.

Carpe Diem
Its true that you never know when you pass away. That doesn't mean you have to go crazy with things you haven't done before..
Just enjoy life. Don't be stuck up and don't be judgmental, also keep an open mind.
I'm really sorry to hear about your friend though. Luckily stuff like that never happened to me, but I get sad everytime young people die like that.Posted 08-18-2008 at 12:58 PM by TheLittleStrawberry -
Carpe Diem
I know a similar feeling x_x

Carpe Diem
I know the feeling. I had paramedics around last night. I stopped breathing. =o That was even scary for the big ol'tough Oreo! But I think my bf was more scared, bless him. Or 'Hood' as you call him. -Hugs!-Posted 08-15-2008 at 01:08 PM by oreo_is_back -
Prejudice
The sad fact is that it is more likely to be an ethnic minority carrying out such an attack. I have no problem being stopped if it's conducted well. Thankfully, in all the times I have been stopped, the police officer has been fine. Some of my friends/family have had bad experiences where the police officer has acted like a complete arse on purpose and obviously I disagree with that but then it's more than just doing their job, it's their own agenda.
I just think it's sad that people harbour such prejudices.Posted 05-26-2008 at 06:04 AM by Pingu -
Prejudice
Quote:'tis the time's we're living in.
But as Leona says, it is just ignorance, this strange assumption that every Asian is a terrorist, but it goes deeper than that. Everyone is prejudice against everyone in some way, see a teenager with a hoodie and you cross the road, just incase they stab you.
I do think things are better than they have been, but are considerably worse than they should be.
The dirty looks you can't stop, and i wouldn't worry about as you said it was an old lady, twenty years ago it would have been talking with a Russian accent and twenty before that a German one and two hundred before that French. These things repeat themselves and the victims simply change.
The police thing is a different matter though, you've just become another statistic of the police stop and search policy in London. Just doing their job, hmm, they're pretty much as likely to find something by stopping a white person as they are someone of a minority. So why do they so unevenly search people?
They tried to stop you twice for the 'random' searches, I, young male, usually beared, only difference being my skin colour, have not once ever been stopped.Posted 05-25-2008 at 07:25 PM by Sum
