Let me guess. You all pretty much think that musical theater is stuffy, passe, cliche, boring, and overall old (Imagine Guys and Dolls- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7kzsZreG0o). Well, you are wrong. There are meaningful, fun, interesting, and overall AWESOME modern, new musicals.

My favorite of these is, of course, Spring Awakening. It is a-freaking-mazing! Ironically, the book was written in 1891 by Frank Wedekind, a German playwright and overall Debbie Downer. If you haven't heard me blab about it, you're missing out my friend. You can look up the musical on Wikipedia (here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring_Awakening). You'll find it has a drastically different plot, and matters to people today. It's the opposite of escapist musicals.
