Webcams.

My webcam broke

So I thought I'd ask you guys what webcams you have/would recommend? I've previously stuck to Logitech QuickCams and they've always served their purpose to a decent standard, but I was wondering if there are any others which are just as good or better? My budget is £10/£15 (max) because I don't wanna be spending loads just for a webcam.

Thoughts/suggestions?

uhm, the webcam i'm using is integrated into my laptop, when i get a new laptop i'll be using the webcam integrated in that.

so i don't know.

I honestly cannot comment but I was reading people seem to be selling HD ones now.

I don't think there is any major difference now my 1st one was like 640x420pix but most are 2mb or more .. prob ALOT more now

I got a webcam/mic combo, designed for flatscreen laptops, in I think Argos or Curry's, for £7.99... or was it £6.99.

I just use my Nintendo DS to clip it on to, so I can move it around and use it with the Desktop PC. XD

I can't really tell you either. I've had mine for like 3/4 years now, it's not a very good one, but okay enough and I've paid it like 19€ at the time. I was a small, round white and blue Logitech one. If it helps

I used to have one which matched that description. Then I got an all-black Logitech one after that. Then it broke

I can't decide whether to stick with Logitech (because I know and trust them) or to venture for something different.

yeah, and I understand that you don't wanna spend loads on a webcam. I'd like to change mine for a better one, but better means more money, and really, since now nothing really lasts, I don't know if I'll ever change it anyway.

For the record, the one I have is Logitech. =3

And it's quite a good cam. It's worked for about a year and the resolution is fine for MSN.

I'm a fan of Logitech. I bought my first one and it was rated as 2 stars on Amazon, but it impressed me and it worked perfectly. The Logitech I have at the moment would've still been working had I been more careful, and I've had that for about 2 years or so. So yeah, that's why I'm inclined to buy another Logitech.

Well, the one I got was super cheap, and works great.
If you have a DS, or something else about that thick that you can use in the same way, then I definitely suggest you get it. XD

Do you mean using something else adapted to be a webcam?

A few years back, I used my EyeToy (gosh, those were the days xD). But I've always just used a regular webcam since. I usually get the ones that clips on to the top of my laptop.

AH, no, not quite.

The one I was talking about, the £7~ one, is designed for laptops, with their thin screens. Even a thin-screen desktop monitor is too thick for them.

But, if you have an NDS, you can attach the webcam onto it, and use it with your desktop PC in that way.

Get me now? ^^ It's kinda hard to explain, I think.

Your past post makes sense now

My laptop is quite a good size/thickness to hold a webcam so I don't need to bother with other things. And my desk is rather big so I can move my laptop quite freely if I want to move the angle etc.
