What is flogging?

i read somewhere else and i'm curious what it is

A flogger is a type of a whip. It is the one which ends in many leather or other material (usually wool or rubber) stripes. Flogging is whiping someone with a flogger. To offer some knowledge, the one which cause the less pain is that with woolen ends. Rubbers ones create a stlingy feel as the rubber hits the skin. Leather ones are the best to my opinion since they are better controlled and the pain may be from very mild to very hard depending on the strength you use.

^ What he said. The feeling of a flogger is better than a paddle. Paddles just cause pain pure and simple, but the floggers make it feel good aswell as inflict abit of a sting.

...and a bit of technique: when using a flogger hold it and rotate it moving your wrist circularly for continuous hits. If you want a stronger hit you may move your elbow but the final movement will on the wrist again. Do not raise your whole arm when using a flogger, it is scary for the sub and you will not throw a stone anyway.

For a really stong hit hold the flogger with your right hand (if you are right handed) with elbow and wrist curved inwards and hold its ends with your other hand. Release its ends while you extend elbow and wrist. (ouch)...

Paddles... I never use them.

"Aragorn", has covered the subject well enough and "Night-1991" is also right about it feels good. I have been using floggers with all my subs. Even if they don't like pain, a flogger can also caress. Imagine the several edges of a flogger "crawling" on a blindfolded submisive's naked skin. I would pick a leather flogger as my best "instrument" in a sensual concert with any submisive.
