1,000$ for YouTube

You recently received 1,000$ to be spent on a YouTube channel and equipment, part of the deal is that 900$ of it must be spent on your YouTube channel, and only 100$ can be spent on things not relating to YouTube.
-What type of channel do you run?
-What did you buy?
-How many subscribers do you think you can get in a year? (Be reasonable.)

I would spend the majority of it on sub and view botting, easiest way to get ahead!

I'd give $900 back and spend the $100 on a new pair of boots. YT is pretty much a shell of what it used to be.

I actually have some really good video editing software so I'd get good recording equipment and just have fun making movies to tell stories or maybe just one scene stories I don't know but I'd do stories not those silly conspiracy theory documentaries nor those weird reality TV things that seem to be the two most popular YT chanels

I'm not 100% sure I agree with you. Yes, the layout has changed. Yes, the algorithms have changed. But at its core YouTube is still people uploading whatever they want. But I sort of see where you come from. (RIP direct video responses)

Well my plan would be to buy a reasonably awesome computer, start a generic lets play channel which I would then nearly ignore in favour of a twitch channel and only upload youtube videos every few months with a generic stream highlight so It doesn't matter if the channel gets trolled by the whole incredibly abusable and downright abhorrent copyright system.

The amount of subscribers would really depend on the games I play so it could vary quite a bit depending on what starts trending.

I already have several DSLRs and cameras of great quality I can record on, 2-3 computers that have professional editing software. So I would probably spend that money on advertisements to spread awareness of my channel.

XD this is definitely a way that could get you money. And yeah subscribers are so finicky.

Hmm, i already have a computer on which i could record videos, i would need a good cam and a microphone though. Also some more space to save data on, like a big HDD or SSD.
I would probaly end up making a gaming channel, because well, i love gaming. I would upload all kind of games i personally enjoy playing, including League of Legends, Rocket League, GTA V (story, online sucks :x) and some more. I don't think i could do lets plays because i'm not that funny but i bet i can make some fun highlights or maybe even make tutorials for LoL or rocket league, as i consider myself above average on those games : P.

In a year i could maybe get like a 1000 subs? I don't know to be honest and i can't guess :x.
The 100 i have left i would probaly end up buying something i like personally, like diapers or something xD.

Part of me's always wanted to do a drunk cookery channel. I know there's a couple of these already but maybe a beginner up approach could be interesting. $900 would probably cover some decent cameras and utensils.

I don't reckon I'd get many subs, but come to think of it if it kicked off it could devolve into a general drunk beginner crafts channel. Starting out crap, and getting even worse as the vids go on.

I'd probably put a bit aside for alka seltzers, too.
