Hourly PM Limit?

Is this a real thng? I have heard a few users mention it, but I have never had a problem with it and I get a fair amount of PM's...

Any one know anything about it?

Never counted exact sent in an hour, but I've sent quite a few.

Ive had it happen to me its mostly to stop spam bots but sometimes it gets in the way when you are pming back and forth with someone having a conversation on here.

Every once in a while it will happen to me, but like shadowice says, its to stop spam.
It runs the same way when they make you wait 32 seconds between sending a pm.

It's actually 60 seconds between each PM. You are also able to PM up to 4 people at once. Also i haven't reached the 25 per hour limit, I guess I'm not that popular on here. But anyways, I would agree about the spamming thing.

There is in fact a 25 per hour PM limit. That's one PM every 2.4 minutes. It's to slow down spammers

Just to clarify thats 1 message every 2 minutes 24 seconds on AVERAGE (25 messages per hour)

PS you can send 25 messages in 5 minutes if you like then wait 55min for the first message to be regranted.

Registered Paid Members get an extra pm allowance, so can private message more. (Donate to getDare)

PS. You can't send 25messages in 5mins, there's also a 32second delay between being allowed to send each message so the fastest you could use up your hourly quota would be 13mins 20seconds.

Wasn't aware of that, was only a member for a few months before granted life membership by winning competition - then mod - then admin.

PS: uncertain if you could use it up earlier by sending the same message to several users (tagging them into message)

I used to have this often when messaging everyone about new story part.
