Gameshow 2: New Seasons

Let me tell you, this past year has been simply insane! “Take Off” made its cable TV premier about 3 months after the taping. The episode I was a part of aired 3 weeks after that.

My phone was ringing off the hook for nearly 2 months straight! People I haven’t seen or heard from since high school were calling me up to say “Hey, was that you?”

Yeah, it was me.

Just about every one who contacted me had good things to say about it….even my family was pretty cool with it, once the initial shock wore off.

Well, not everyone.

Michelle’s episode had aired the week before mine. And she was getting the same attention. Except she hated the reminders of what went down (or should I say in) that day. We fought constantly. Before the week was done, she had moved out. Which may be just as well…I don’t think she was going to want to see that little vixen Holly stroking me off.

Holly…. man, I wished there was some way to get in touch with her. I thought about getting in touch with that production company, to see when the next taping would be, in the slim hope that I would cross paths with her again.

But strangely, after the shows aired, there was no follow up. No “Season 2”. Oh, I did get my check for $1400 dollars, but it seemed like “Take Off”, well, took off…..

(part 2)

Fast forward several months. I’m sitting at home, when a old buddy of mine calls me up.

“Dude, remember that crazy game show you were on?”

“No…totally forgotten all about it. Of course I remember it, doofus!”

“Well, dude, turn on your TV. Remember that Holly chick? She’s on again, right now!”

“What? Where? What channel??!!” After he tells me, I flip the channel over, and sure as hell, there she is! She’s standing in a group with 3 guys and 2 other girls, all dressed in identical looking sweat outfits, with a logo that reads “War of the Sexes”. If I didn’t know better this looked like….

Another game show! And there was Holly!

(part 3)

They were apparently just wrapping up the contestant introductions (and I missed Holly’s. Damn it, I hope someone was TIVOing this!) and they cut to a commercial.

After the longest commercial break in the history of television, the host announced the first round.

“All right contestants. Take your places for the Strip-Off.”

Each player was in an isolated booth, so they couldn’t see each other, and were standing in a circle. I could see behind them 5 buttons, with the name of the other contestants written beneath them (I assume that was the case, I didn’t see Holly’s name on any of the buttons behind her). Everyone had their arms at their sides.

“Ready, set….go!” And on that signal, each of the contestants began pulling off their clothes…shoes, socks, sweat shirt and pants. No underwear on any of them! Now I understood why they were all wearing the same thing…no one had any real advantage here.

Sure enough, Holly was the first one undressed (and still looking as hot as I remember). She then spun around and hit one of the buttons behind her. As she did, a light came on above her, which apparently was important, because she seemed real excited about that. As the others finished they too spun around and hit a button, but no lights came on.

The host called them all out to center stage. “Holly, as the first one done, you win the $100 bonus for the round, and are safe from being eliminated this round.” This got more whoops of excitement from Holly. “Now let’s see who’s going home first. Holly, it’s a good thing you were fast…it looks like 3 of your…teammates wanted you gone! Darryl, sorry to say, but you had 2 votes, so you’re leaving.” Darryl, a fairly good looking guy, about 6’2 with blonde hair, didn’t just look disappointed…he looked nervous!

The host continued. “As you know, our contestants arrive at the studio with nothing but our official War of the Sexes sweats, and our first contestant eliminated leaves with nothing. Sorry Darryl…I hope you didn’t arrive by public transportation!” Now I understood…Darryl was going home nude!

I finally took a moment to see the other contestants. There was Bob, kinda short, with bright ginger hair, and Fred, about 6’ with dark hair and a goatee. Holly was a cute little brunette, although she had it cut shoulder length now. Kelly was a blonde, her hair going halfway down her back, and Susan was a dark haired beauty with a really nice rack. Both Kelly and Susan were shooting daggers with their eyes at Holly. Guess they were 2 of the votes against her. I wonder which guy voted for her too…and why?

“All right” said the host. “Let’s move on to our next round.”

(part 4)

After another tediously long commercial break, the show was finally back.

The host was saying “Since Darryl lost our opening round, it’s time to eliminate one of the girls.”

The girls had been placed kneeling in front of a low bench, on some pads that had been placed on the stage, there asses presented prominently. It looked like Holly was on the left, Kelly, the blonde, in the middle, and Susan on the right. The guys were brought out, along with a hostess wheeling in one of those giant deck of cards that seem to be a staple of these shows.

The host was saying “Here’s how this is going to work. Each of you is going to draw a card, and, grabbing one of those paddles over there,” the camera cuts to show the paddles, “you will pick one of these lovelies to paddle a number of times equal to the card. Jacks will be 11, queens 12, and kings 13. Each of you will draw 3 times, and you can not paddle the same ass twice. The girl with the least number of paddles will be out of the game.”

An off-stage coin toss meant that Bob went first. He drew an 8, grabbed a paddle, paused to think a moment, and gave Holly 8 quick swats. Fred drew a jack, and perhaps with a bit of a mean streak, decided to follow up Bob’s swats with 11 more on Holly.

“That fixes Holly’s score at 19. Bob, your turn again.” Bob draws a 5 this time, and gives 5 swats on Susan. Fred, after drawing a ten, continues with 10 more hard hits on Susan, who yelps loudly on the last 3.

“And that gives Susan a score of 15. Both of you have to swat Kelly with your last draws.” Bob steps up and draws a 4, but he really puts everything into it, and gets a small cry from Kelly. Fred draws a 9, and also gives it his all. Kelly really cries out by the end. On top of everything else, she only had 13, so she was gone. Wiping a tear, and shooting an angry look at the guys, she was escorted off stage.

“More to come, after this break.”

Loving this so far. You manage to handle game show based fiction very well, which is a surprisingly hard niche to get right.

Only slightly worried that at the current pace this is going to be quite short, but I'm sure you've got things in mind to prevent that.

Thanks. If you haven't already please read the first story (link at top), it will fill in some of the back story.

This one is ultimately going to be a little more open ended, so the story can continue for a while. If you (or anyone else) is interested in "appearing" on the show, pm me with a brief description, and first name to use, and I will be glad to write you in.
