Lack of females is the answer. A lot of guys are looking for mistresses more than masters. Masters want boys and so say they are women so that us easily conned guys dive for them.

Good advice! I think it should be mandatory for everbody to use a webcam. If somebody is honest and has nothing to hide he can surley use a webcam.

Well, that's just silly isn't it?
It should not be mandatory, because people should always have the choice whether they want to go on cam or not. But if someone were to try and say they were a female, and then asked you to go on cam or send pictures, then yes, they should prove they are who they say they are at the very least.

If you're just talking and that's it... then really proof isn't needed. if you want things to go further but aren't willing to make the effort to prove you are who you say you are, then expect the other person to be very hesitant in believing you are real.

I refuse to go on cam simply cuz i dont want someone having loads of pics of my face. I always send one straight away but thats it. After a while i send pics of me doing things but never face pics for safety reasons. So dont always expect them to send a face pic cuz it can be a bit worrying for some people. I think a good idea would be to ask a girl to hold something near her boobs (obviously with clothes on) thus proving it is a female.

and i think i agree with this post.. i, too, have met too many girls with broken or missing webcams (with the clear intention of getting one (yeah right)).. it's just too suspicious. x]

though my own cam wont work in msn (sometimes, grr) and have odd freezes in yahoo, meh.

Is there anyway that users could verify themselves to members of the Mod team and if they do so they get some kind of symbol added to their profile.

For example you'd go on cam and one of the mods would ask you to do some random non-sexual stuff to prove you're real. Blink, wave, clap hands, anything really. That way if somebody doesn't want to go on cam for the "general public" at least they will know they are talking to the real deal.

Those who don't have cams, or have "broken cams" simply can't verify themselves... deal with it, or buy a cheap cam for $10!

I'm not saying force people or don't let them join.

I'm saying there could be 2 types of member, verified and unverified... and if you choose to trust a non-verified member, you know what to expect.

I think that's a good idea, so you can have the choice to verify yourself and then have some sort of sign so people know you are who you say you are.

That is a good idea, but even that is not an airtight method. The only way to be 100% sure the person you are talking to is real, is to be face to face and not over a computer.

But what you sujested will cut out a lot of the fakes. A hell of a lot of them.
