it has come to my attention that not many people know how the member names are givein ad i thing when people join they should get a message explaining it to them. i mean like u need to make 100 posts to become a senior member and i think it needs to be explained more. just an idea

The only thing with this is that someone will see that the tag they like the look of is at point x of posting, so will spam the board with lots of useless stuff just to get to this point. then do little else after that,

I fell like in the grand sceme of things, this is not something that would be on the top of the list to PM new users. Most people that even notice that don't do so until after a couple of weeks on here or so, and many aren't really concerned about it at all.

I think maybe, if at most, make a stickie? But I don't even know if you really even need that either. Like shadow said, knowing where the next marker is could encourage users to just post unneededly (sp? 0.o) just to increase their post count and change the title. The only plus side to making a stickie with the information is that it might cut down on threads of this topic being made, though people probably still wouldn't read it.

Though, all of that information might already be in a stickie and I just missed it? *shrugs*

I don't really find it that difficult to get to 'senior member', but it's not something people should be trying to get because, like Star Shadows said, a lot of people will just post garbage and spam to get their post count up.

speaking of posting just to get your post count up... kidding.... sortof (although i am mostly just doing this cuz i need a 100th post, but i got the others without cheating) :P but no, in all seriousness. i think its a good idea and a bad one, i think that people only deserve the title if they do it honestly and if you know about it beforehand, its no longer honest.

There are things like titles, star rating system and such that seem to get some people worked up. They sometimes cause misuse but in general they are only indicators, the best thing is not to take them too seriously.

I disagree, I have to say I think that would be a bad idea. Maybe someone should Poll it, but doing something like that might just cause users to spam post to get their title. Also, users actually committed to this site would work it out before long anyway :P
