Chat is down again, well it is when I tried to get in,

I got show this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function time_to_run() in /home/getdare/public_html/bbs/tordchat/incl/main.inc on line 7

what does this mean?

This is the same / similar to last week.

Depp has been made aware of the situation.

Please be patient and lets not all say, "Same for me" etc

I can see, chat is up again. But you asked why it gives that error. So following is the answer. lol

If you use some function in php and if you call that function with following erroneous situations, that could happen.

1. If you use the same name but you have ignored the case of the name (php is case sensitive)
2. If you call an instance method without first creating an object.
3. If you call an static method without class name.
4. Other

As far as I know, there is no inbuilt function in php called 'time_to_run()'. So I guess it's a user defined method name. So you don't have to import some class files first.

Well I don't understand what you just posted at all as I'm not a techie and neither are most of the users, but for me the chat rooms are down in the UK at the moment with the same message. Are you sure there is not some attack to the site going on?

Probably just Depp poking about with stuff. Can't be as bad as when I changed one function a few weeks ago and took our entire corporate domain down <_<

Thanks for the report. I'm investigating why these issues keep coming up. I suspect it may have to do with our PHP caching system as most of the errors should never occur.

It seems like a bit complex situation. Anyway I hope you have a end cache mechanism as well as a begin cache mechanism. If the chat is written in asp.net, I could help you.

I don't know much about php though.

But have a look at the end cache mechanism and see whether you closed all the input and output streams correctly and you did flush those ,where necessary. I cannot tell the exact solution as I don't know the architecture. and I know you have a very good technical staff with you.

But I'm trying to help.
