Yeah.

I considered letting it slide in as a 'win' due to being that close, but it actually doubles the number of pictures I send Cass so decided I didn't need to.

Just an FYI ... a do-it-yourself spiked sheath is extremely cheap to make.

• Pretty much just an empty toilet paper tube for the sheath.

• Duct tape for a bit of waterproofing, as cardboard is pretty much allergic to all liquids.

• Then add your choice of thumbtacks, pushpins, staples, et cetera for the teeth.

All sorts of opportunities to get creative with colored or patterned duct tape, tacks/pins with colorful heads. Maybe a mean silver & metal one with the basic tape & pins. You get the idea.

It did occur to me to fabricate something.

I think I would have gone with cutting up one of the spiked 'carpet protector' things.

That or PVC pipe with some blunted self tapping screws.

But it also occurred that I didn't need to. It's something I might experiment with another time tho.

I played around with a diy pvc & screw setup a long time ago. No longer have it, as we’re talking 15 years ago. That certainly is one way to go. Doing it over again, I would probably start with the toilet paper tube for sizing, as a template. Now that I’m older, wiser, and own a Dremel, I can be a little more creative.
