After a minute or two, I contemplate my worship of you and decide this mound more important. I dig deep into my pockets, discovering the Lindt truffles I bought with me as my offering to you and begin hurling them from the summit. As you roll down the steep incline to retrieve your "precious" I stand alone, in command of the ground that belongs to me. This is MY hill!!!

Your treachery has been noted. I waste no time at all and anxiously chase after the shiny balls. I call upon my childhood training: Easter egg hunts. I’ve soon located and secured my precious. I unfurl the wrapper of a coconut flavour Lindt truffle and pop the ball straight into my mouth, moaning audibly as it starts to melt.

I feel a strange sensation spreading over me. Is this... happiness? I start to emit a faint glow which becomes stronger as I eat my second and third chocolates. The glow grows brighter and brighter. A feeling of lightness spreads across me. My worries melt away. I feel my feet leave the ground.

Suddenly, I hear a scream. You’re curled in a ball clutching your face, the heels of your palms pressed against your eyes. It seems you weren’t worthy to look upon me. You’re whimpering about your poor eyes and rocking from side to side on the ground, when the inevitable happens: you rock a little too far and you start to roll. Rock N Roll, baby. You roll right down to the bottom of the hill. I feel a vague sense of pity looking at your crumpled body as I float on over you. I keep rising until I reach the summit and then stand firmly upon MY hill.

I continue screaming, the pain etched in my retina as I apply pressure on my sockets to relieve the pain. I feel your presence rise, higher and higher. I sense you on the summit, I dare to reach out to you, but in pain and sheer agony I cannot. I begin clambering my way back towards you, but the higher the altitude I go, the further away you seem.

I hear you shout down to me, as I reach the peak of the hill, you carried on rising. Oh the power of those little coconut chocolaty balls. I flail in a desperate need to make contact with you and bring you back down to earth, but alas it is in vein. You continue to soar high into the stratosphere, a real life goddess, looking down on your world, leaving me behind, alone to fend for myself, on MY HILL.
