Dare Poker

Sorry if a similar game was posted already

At school we were bored and decided to play poker but we couldn't do strip poker obviously and we had no money (not even another deck to use as money) so we came up with this

Instead of betting money, you start off by betting an easy dare, the others can choose to match it (keep the dare the same) or raise (make the dare worse).

You can choose to fold as normal if the deal is too high, and whoever has the worst hand at the end when everyone who will fold has folded and nobody want to raise the bet has to do the dare

an example would be 3 people playing, A, B and C

A has a good hand, so starts off with the bet of "go into the wrong toilet"
B also has a good hand so raises to "go into the wrong toilet and strip"
C raises again to "go into the wrong toilet, strip and put on the other sexes underwear"

this is too high for A so he folds

B and C both decide to stick

B has 2 pair but C had a flush, so B has to go into the toilet, strip and wear the other sexes underwear

Tell me what you think, it isn't that great and needs work, but we made it up in a few minutes to pass the time

In terms of "dead money", I think in the example you've given A should still have to perform the dare "Go into the wrong toilet."

I think it's great as is because if you think you have an unbeatable hand you raise the stakes because you want to see the other players make a fool of themselves, but a doesn't want to look stupid and has no good hand so a can fold safely. I think it's good, but it'll be hard to find some people who'll play.

I actually will probably play that at the next party I go too. It'll probably just revert to strip poker though. It's a good idea, but people who don't have up-to-doing-dares friends only people on getdare might struggle with it.

Perhaps we can create an internet game!
