Sure you're right with the laggy site. I got some large delay two times by myself, and of course that's a big deal in such a game.
Regarding the posts - well, yeah, not everyone did edit them in the correct manner as stated in the rules. I checked mine every time, did count for myself and then edited the right numbers.
