May it's just me but 7 out of 10 times i go into chat i'm pretty much ignored. Is it just me or am i disliked or are members just not willing to talk to new people?

I don't think this is the way to intialise a conversation. I know it can be hard to mix yourself into a conversation, especially when some people know each other for months or years already. Or if you're not familiar with the topic of the conversation.

If I want to chat with strangers, I usually go to their profile page and look for something fun to chat about. Then I start a conversation with the user myself, instead of mixing myself in someone else's conversation. If we both hit it up, the conversation grows bigger and others might jump in.

So if you want to chat, don't wait for others to include you.

I'm going to disagree, out of general etiquette, if someone in chat says hi the it's generally polite, whatever the conversation to say hi back

I can see your points and greatly appreciate your input but, again, it's kind of rude to ignore someone saying hi not just online but in real life as
well.

During the conversation later, a member said wassup? so i, in a joking manner said Come on it's waaaaaaasssssssssuuuuuuuuupppp. Sorry, Dudley Boyz fan. to then get what the frik is dudley boyz? are u a non healthcare american which, quite frankly, i found offensive. I added in an admin to the comment i was offended to which they said they weren't offended....so i'm offended and that doesn't matter because they weren't?

I guess the non-healthcare American can be a stereotype. And some might get offended by it. But only if it breaks getDare rules, get the staff involved. If the user is bothering you (or in this case offending you), ignore the person.

What did you want to accomplish by getting staff involved?

Also, when you came into chat at that particular time this morning, there were very few people in there and maybe 1 or 2 of us active. It wasn't as though we were having an active conversation and leaving you out.

I am chatting while at work, and so I will glance over and respond to one or two specific people/comments and then have to return to doing my work.

If you want to join the conversation I suggest a few things:

1. Change your font color. A lot of the time my eyes just gravitate to the colored fonts and the black/white just get ignored.

2. Say more than hello. I don't expect a reply from everybody when I join chat, and I certainly don't say hi to every person. I do try to greet new people as often as I can to make them feel welcome. But try asking how their day is going, or specific questions.

3. Try to use proper grammar, spelling and make sense in your writing. Errors will happen and I know not everybody is a native English speaker, but it is easy to ignore comments that make no sense. For ex. I had no clue what you were even talking about when it came to the offensiveness conversation you were talking about.
