WriteForMe Corner Time

For those of you that want a corner time / typing challenge, here you go: https://writeforme.org/writingtask.php?task=16519

The concept is: you type 60 lines. For every mistake you make, you will spend one minute in the corner. You can take as long as you want in order to be careful, but the longer it takes you to complete the lines, the more challenging (and painful) your position will be in the corner. So, balance speed with accuracy. The positions are given at the end of the task.

Anyone daring enough to try for perfectly typed lines and risk the consequences?

This was my first WriteForMe task ever attempted... 34 mistakes !!! I don't think I'm bad typer, I naturally write with decent speed and just very occasionly glance over keyboard. But now I was so reckless and careless with mistakes

.... I'm sure if I repeat it I'd have half as much mistakes.

I realised little too late that 34 minutes of cornertime will be damn long time. And with hands parallel to floor, wow damn!!! I knew from start this will be impossible so I was thinking what to do. Alternating arms from parallel to above head sounded like a good idea. And thats what I was doing since timer start. When one arms position felt annoying I changed it to other one. Or to something in between. While above head, clasped some of time. However they never passed lower then shoulders or were not-straight at elbow. Nose was only very few seconds total detached from wall during whole time.

In hindsight maybe my arms moving freely at made my time even easier then just holding overhead which was punishment for one time-measure faster typing...

So yeah, if those 'little' modifications can be forgiven since it was my first time - great !

If I deserve to be punished for them, alright, I'll take it ! !!

btw. I'm 25yr guy. Its not me in avatar pic as some think lol... I'm in good health but skinny and too lazy to workout consistently to put up some muscle. Due my hint of abs at certain angles I like to think I'm not total slob and that I hold certain above-beginner level of fitness.

I love that the corner time position gets harder as the time spent to finish the writing task increases! I think all the positions are very well-thought, so thank you for a good, thoughtful dare!

I finished in 23 minutes, so I got: standing on tiptoes, hands on top of head for 12 minutes.

23 mistakes in 9 minutes, so I got standing in the corner with hands at my side. I used the virtual cornertime website set at 20 minutes with 20% movement threshold. Would've been simple enough, but my cat kept coming into view of my tablet, and before I knew it, I had over an hour in the corner.

In this task, you have a choice to make, as described in the instructions:

"There are initially 100 (rather short) lines. The amount of time you will spend in the corner is exactly equal to the amount of time it takes you to complete your lines.

THE CATCH is that the FEWER mistakes you make, the more difficult the position for your corner time....Make more mistakes and the positions get easier, but you will have more lines to type, thus your time will be longer."

So you have some choice on your predicament. Do it if you dare!

I just did the new one, number 3, and got busy typing so I forgot to make more errors. I have 14 errors - fortunately only 9 minutes in the corner.

I love the concept of this. Just tried the first one for now. Mistakes feel so much scarier than just "that's one more line to type." Luckily I'm a quick typer. It seemed like I'd have a streak of perfect lines, then I'd mess up once and keep messing up several lines in a row, then have another good streak, then mess up a bunch.

Made 32 mistakes total, that's 32 minutes in the corner. But I'm fast so it only took me 8 minutes and 36.4 seconds to type. So I only have to stand with my hands at my side for 32 minutes in the corner.

Though in the end, I guess being fast and making a bunch of mistakes wasn't such a good thing. Long corner time in an easy position meant my mind kept wandering and I was having a hard time staying in a sub-mode. It's also that time of the year where it's cold inside without the heat on, but it's not cold out yet for the heat to come on too much so I was pretty freezing standing there naked with my nose on the wall.

I wanna give it another try sometime (and try the other ones) and see if I can do fewer mistakes even if it takes longer. A harder position for a shorter amount of time might help me stay focused more. I definitely got fidgety by the end there, so I wanna try and do better next time. I gotta work on my cornertime discipline.

Thanks for putting together such a clever WFM/Cornertime combo! I'm really into the idea and wanna give the others you posted a shot too.
