Novel writing - Make me write

Hi !
I decided to write a novel a long moment ago (more than one year ...) and I still didn't write anything. I know what I want to write (unfortunately it'll be in French, since it's my mother tongue), I just don't have motivation.

Today, I decided to make it change ! I need you to motivate me and to give me tasks while doing it. For example : "You'll be in chastity until you've written 1 full page". I'll be using Microsoft Word to write.

I'll begin writing and following your tasks on January 3rd, since I'm not alone at the moment, living with my family, and then returning back alone in my accommodation

Ok, I write too. The one thing I see that your missing, did you do a outline of the story, and how it's going to be structured? Once you have that into place, you should be able to create and write your novel in a month's time, at 3,000 words a chapter, and 30 chapters.

If you don't have that into play, the task of writing is very intimidating, and you lose motivation.

Yes I wrote the outline of the story, which is developped but not too much since there are points where I had different things in head, so I didn't want to choose these specific parts of the story before writing, I wanted to choose when writing, so that I'll know exactly what happened before, and kind of play with that !

But you're right too, I didn't write the end of the story, because of a lack of a really great final scene. But the problem for me is the very beginning, finding an incipit that could motivate the reader to continue reading, and the writing style. I have some ideas now, but beginning the story is like beginning something that would be too long. Now I have the motivation and the main things I need to begin .

In the start, as you know you need to grab the reader attention within the first dozen or so pages, so you want to create conflict, a death, or a huge change in there life. For example, Harry Potter, he discovers his powers. Twilight, Bella moving from AZ to were her father lives. Also what I do, is put in a lot of cliff hangers, to keep the reader motivated to turn the pages.

Yeh, that's what I've been thinking about mostly, grabbing the reader's attention at the beginning. I find cliffhangers easier to do, and it's not really what you're thinking about when beginning, but when you feel the end of the chapter happening

Well you are going to publish thru amazon, because traditional paperback publishers have a strick guideline on what they want, so there can't be any feel, they want 3,000 words a chapter, and 30 chapters for new novel writers.

So if you feel that you can't end the chapter at 3,000 words or force it, amazon would be the best way to go, so it doesn't screw up your style of writing.

I didn't know it, and don't really want to force the end of a chapter if I don't feel like I can finish it the way I want in some words ... I don't know if it's that strict in France, but I'll check that when finished, writing a nowel is more a challenge for myself than begin a carrier as a writer. However, if it's possible, I'd enjoy being a writer, and have many ideas on future stories
