What kind of Chastity cage should I get?

I'm going to surprise my girlfriend and get a chastity cage for me to wear for her. The idea has come up a few times, but I want to make the commitment to do it. The question is, since I have no prior experience with chastity cages, what kind should I get? What are the pros and cons of each material? Are there certain styles that I should look for or avoid? I'm turning to you all to help me with the decision

Also, I would LOVE to hear feedback from anyone who has used them. All experiences would be great to hear, so I can make an informed decision, with your help

Metal can be heavy, it can sometimes get cold too. Plastic can be lightweight, and can be strong. I recommend the CB series of cages, personally my size is the CB6000S as I am small. There's plenty of forums and guides though, if you want the best possible obviously a custom made one for you personally would be better than any pre-made/designed, although these come at quite a cost.

Thanks, Ishwbwimfa, I didn't realize that metal ones could be more detrimental than the others! So, are you happy with your cb6000 series?

I've not currently received it, it's still out for delivery, sadly. I can't wait to use it though, I've read a bunch of reviews, if I somehow find I'm not happy with it, I can always return it and get a refund anyways, so it's not really a big deal for me! I've not worn a metal one, but it's just what I think. It be heavy, and now I think about it, the lock could keep banging on your cage making some unusual sounds and some people may question this in their minds, could be a fun aspect for you to know others may realise (the knocking can of course work with plastic). You also mentioned silicone, this could cause some friction between the cage and penis, you've also got to be careful with silicone, some toys contain nasty stuff. (phthalates etc, I never buy anything other than good quality silicone/plastic/glass or metal toys, and I never buy jelly type toys)

So far, what I've taken away from this, and other pms, is that a CB6000 would be a great starter chastity cage. Does anybody have any advice about where I can get one from? Is Amazon.com's version good enough for these types of things? Should I consider another type of plastic or metal cage?

I think a spike one would be great, if you get horny, it'll hurt.

Fantage, the only issue I see with that is that this is going to be my first chastity cage and I have no prior experience... I could see that as a more experienced option, but it may dissuade me from continued usage of my cage if I purchase one with spikes, or that caused other forms of pain, or required a PA Piercing... It may be too extreme for me at this point

I wouldn't recommend a spiked one to a beginner, if at all. You would never make it through the night with that.

I have a CB6000s myself and it's pretty great. It's not perfect, but works pretty well. It takes a little getting used to and finding the right ring size. I started with bigger rings and then went down in size gradually.

The biggest issue I have with it though, is that it's quite visible, especially with the type of pants that I usually wear.

For this, and for more comfort, I'm planning on purchasing a HolyTrainer V2. You should look it up. Many people praise it for it's comfort and discreetness. The downside of the device is that you need to pick your ring size before purchasing, and you get only one ring with your purchase. But perhaps because of the great design, you wouldn't need to progress down in size and you could go with only one ring if measured well.

So, after several people pm'ed me and the posts on this thread, I think that the safest course of action will be for me to purchase a plastic cage, like the cb6000. Now I just need to go to a store to purchase an amazon gift card to do so discretely :P Does anyone have any dares for me to do while I'm doing this transaction? Or have any last minute input?
