actually the exact opposite happened to me
my current girlfriends friends kept telling me that she wanted me to ask her out, we were really good friends at that point and I wasn't aure if they were joking or not and I was nervous about asking her out, but theykept bugging me and in the end I did, apparently they had told her that I wanted her to ask me too, lol. So in the end, it was their constant bugging and interfering that helped

This kind of technically happened to me before... except it was mutual. We both loudly fell out in the street as my friends didnt think much of him, and after going back into my house being 'too distraught to talk to them' I snook back out and to his house and we secretly got back together. Unfortunately the next time we loudly broke up it was neither mutual or fake.
