I picked the one that makes me and my loved ones happy. It just makes the most sense to me to try and make myself and those I care about happy.

I chose the ability to teleport. It would make me famous because I'd be the only one who could teleport. People would watch me do it openly, and some would probably dream about being able to teleport like me. I'd be able to teleport anywhere, thus being able to see and experience more -- thus getting me closer to figuring out more secrets to the universe. I'd be able to teleport anywhere, thus be able to steal anything and give those things to my friends and loved ones to make them happy. Speaking of stealing things, I'd be able to steal them and resell them to become wealthy. Now that I can travel anywhere with my teleporting, I will also be able to meet more people thus raising the likelihood of meeting my soulmate. Finally, given my ability to travel anywhere and steal anything to make any amount of money I want, I'd also be able to go anywhere to buy the clothes I want and pay any plastic surgeon to make me appear however I want.

Teleporting is best choice.

This isn't to insult anybody else's choice--these are just my thoughts about the different powers!

1. a potion that makes you famous
I have no interest in being famous! If anything, it would be a huge pain!

2. a potion that allows you to enter the dreams of others
This would be so much fun! I think dreams can say a lot about the person having them. You could learn a lot from diving into somebody's subconscious! It would also be fun to mess around with their dreams. Toying with somebody's subconscious could even be kinky (consensually, of course). I just have to be careful not to get myself killed inside somebody's dream (feels like Inception).

3. a potion that makes you aware of the secrets of the universe
I think being aware of all the secrets of the universe might actually be depressing. Mystery is exciting. This is like knowing how the book ends before you read it. That seems kinda boring.

4. a potion that makes you and your loved ones happy
I can definitely understand choosing this option. But I think that negative emotions drive us to make changes for the better. I worry about what my life would be without that driving force. At the end of the day, maybe it wouldn't matter because at least I would be happy. But I'm not sure if I want that. It feels like I would be buying into some suspicious happiness drug. I'm just skeptical! Caveat emptor.

This is probably the most practical power, and you could do some fun things with it too. I just think entering dreams is more unique and exciting. Teleporting can get you to a lot of places, but it can't get you inside somebody's dream.

6. a potion that makes you famously wealthy
Well first of all, this potion makes #1 obsolete. Not only are you wealthy, but you're also famous. In fact, you're famous for being wealthy. Neither of these things interests me much. Wealth is a means to an end. If I can already afford what I want, then the rest is excess. Having so much excess money won't make my life better or more interesting.

7. a potion that leads you to your soulmate
This is nice. I do hope to find my "soulmate" someday. But it's not very high on my list of priorities right now. Rather than have one special person, I care more about being surrounded by a group of people I love.

8. a potion that allows you to change your appearance (only once)
You could potentially do some wacky things to your appearance, but then you'd be considered a freak. The most normal way to use this would be to make yourself more attractive. It seems boring though. I would be interested if I could use it more than once, because that would be fun.

Entering someones dreams is the one for me. Especially if I have any amount of control of the dream like I do with my own. It would be like having a virtual playground for you and the dreamer where you could do anything with no physical consequences.

I went for the happiness one, but I was VERY tempted by the teleporting one, would make life so much easier and waste far less time travelling or stuck in traffic or airports! Could see so much more of the world.
