I am thinking of putting together a new post with information for new members to getDare. Please link me to any threads or blogs or information (outside of the normal chat rules), that you think would be helpful for new members.

It may be too confrontational/aggressive for newbies, but it may be worth considering.

I am not sure I am comfortable posting here twice being somewhat new myself comparing to others lol. Maybe put somewhere an image like this of the somewhat hidden feature to download PMs?

I say it because the following happened this week:

I was talking to some people through PMs (sorry chat people, I am terrified of going there =p) and he said to wait a little as he had to clean his folder a little as it was close to max, and it was getting hard because he had a lot of PMs he wanted to keep. I showed that poor MS.Paint image and the feature and his reply was "Thanks, I can't believe that exist, so many important PMs lost". Not sure if it would be that important for new people, but apparently even more experienced users don't know that.

I didn't even know that! So thanks for sharing.

Neither did I and i'm here since the old days, so so many messages i've lost over the years didn't realize gD had this feature enabled whoops! Thank you very much qmu :)

Granted that one is easy for me to find. I'll add some others I know that I Think every newbie should read. They are good and awesome. I think you've written some Butterfly. People forget basic courtesies in the excitement of finding getdare.

Feels a bit conceited to suggest my own post :o But I think it could help a lot of newbies, especially if they're new to D/s as well as the site.

Might be worth noting that guys do the same thing even when they know they're talking to guys, too :(

Like, as a switch/sub I've had a number of doms contact me, and almost all of them so far have wanted me to do anal play. It's riiight there in the limits, folks.

And like 99% of them immediately want body pics, which either I go along with(anxiously because I'm fairly average) or it's just a big "no" and blocked.

Like, I'm trying to have fun/conversation, not be a participant in your fantasies. Ah well. I guess what I'm trying to say is, make sure new members know about this sort of stuff - some people want to take advantage, don't participate with them.

Thank you for adding that! Thats why I originally started that thread so we could get people talking and sharing advice!
