This thread is to share book recommendations and to talk about books you've read. Basically, as long as it's about books you're welcome to post it here.

If you recommend a book please mention the following:
Title / Author / Topic / Genre / Personal comments (but no spoilers please!)

Please follow the gD rules, and don't quote the first post.

Any suggestions for the Book Club (not books, just the club) are welcome in my inbox!

I have read, Lord Of The Ring's, all the Harry Potters, all the Twilights and all the Hunger Games

as for a book to read, The Hobbit? it's what I'm reading at the moment

The last book I read was The wheel of time book The Eye of the World, By Robert Jordan. Straight after I finished the lotr books.

Alot of things seemed similar between them both, to the point where Loial started talking about how fast humans are (tree ents anyone?), but thats not really a bad thing. Infact its pretty awesome.

Anways I'm currently reading the second one at work and im half way through and loving it.

Steven Brust is one of my favorite authors and he is a drummer in a band. I love the Jhereg series about a magic user/assassin with a pseudo dragon as a familiar. The 500 Years Before series is more like poetry, but still a story bit you can tell the melody and timing a drummer has.

The last short story I read was on the same world where a different main character is used. He is serving a dominant woman who sends him on a quest. The story is called THE DESECRATOR and you can get an ebook version.

One of the best series ever. Just prepare yourself for books 7-9 where absolutely nothing happens at all

Figured id give this a bump because.... books an all that jazz. Just a note dont hover over the spoiler tags if you are reading these, ive worded them so these spoilers arent that spoilery but.... still.

Anyway, finished that series a while back it was pretty damn awesome.

Spoiler:

Egwenes part in the final battle was.... FUCKING GLORIOUS! Seriously one of my favourite parts of the entire series. Thats all im going to say incase I spoil some more for anyone.

Currently reading a song of fire and ice, i'm now on book four and holy shit things are heating the fuck up.

I really don't want to spoil anything even in spoiler tags but.... that wedding was brutal.

I would personally recommend the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini...
Fucking love those books!
