Just a question about dare/game ideas in my stories

I hope you may be able to help me but I thought I'd ask first.

If any of you have read any of my stories, you will find that they get a bit samey. I am looking for something to spice them up a bit and I have noticed that some of the games suggested in the Lounge Games forum and the truths/dares suggested in those forums sound like fun.

However, I do not want to infringe on anyone's ideas so, is it okay for me to pinch ideas from other forums like those to spice up my stories?

There are too many for me to approach the individual posters with PMs but I thought I might pick and choose certain ones if it is okay to steal other peoples ideas.

What is the general view on this?

The last thing you want is for someone to see you took their idea and not have asked for permission. Although the phrase, "Ask for forgiveness is better than permission," is used for getting out of trouble sometimes. Since you have the time, just ask. I'm sure they will be glad you are asking and using their ideas rather than trying to steal them and not care. I'm glad you are going to send them a message though.

I do prefer to ask first even though there's no copyright in ideas or titles and they can be used as required as long as details are changed. I just prefer to ask and respect other people's efforts. After all, one day, someone else may want to use my ideas

Maybe you can credit them in your story thread
So others that liked that dare can see more from that maker

I'd agree with the others! If you're going to take prewritten ideas you should ask! I like writing stories too, but usually just private ones!
Instead of taking their ideas, post a thread giving a rough idea of what you're going to write about and ask people to give you suggestions of what they'd like to see happen in it! Then they're offering you their ideas, you haven't got to steal anything or bother messaging anybody! It might even make it more interesting for you seeing how many you can incorporate!

I will send reports when I choose to or if I am asked. If you give me a repeated dare or a "do your own dare," I will be very disappointed because I like to be surprised and challenged.
