I find it depends a lot on timing and method. Nudity makes sense, especially when I'm in bed. If it's a quickie mid-day, I'm more likely to leave my shirt or dress on and just remove any bottom pieces. But if I'm asked to grind on something soft, then wearing panties is surprisingly helpful to minimize cleanup problems without significantly diminishing the sensations.
