The biggest problem is here is that there is an assumption that sexuality has to do with behavior and it doesn't. What we do is only partially governed by our sexuality, but also a lot through what I would call "pressures" Societal, peer, personal, personal safety (risk) etc. pressures can have a big impact on what we do sexually. What we do sexually can be an reflection of our sexuality but it doesn't indicate our sexuality like this chart seems to want to suggest.

I dot feel it does suggest that at all and the actions that we do sexual are using determine and done with some one we are attracted to not the other way round. If 2 people are in to the same thing but not in to each other it won't happen

There for I feel that this is a good gage for someone back line sexuality and as it is used by sexolagists around the would on a daily basis

I also think that you viewing the chart in the wrong way it is simply a visual ade for people to go by if you read it It does make sense

I could put it in a table in stead of a graph and just have words

I am a perfect 6, but I was a perfect 6 even before I ever had sex with guys, so I wouldn't base it on my behavior. I certainly could have sex with women, just never have, but even if I had, it still wouldn't have changed my sexuality.

I consider my sexuality fluid. I've definitely felt like a 5, 4, 3, and 2 before at different phases of my life. I'd currently place myself at a 3.

I guess it goes towards what you think the Kinsey scale is, if you think it is just a record of your sexual activity then I guess it would matter that you have never sought out homosexual encounters. If you believe it is an indication of your sexuality it shouldn't matter if you have or haven't had homosexual or even heterosexual encounters. Would you think a person is any less straight if they are a virgin?

I think that I some of the basic problems of the Kinsey scale is that it makes an assumption that the things we do sexually are governed by our sexuality, and that is simply not true. It certainly influences it but so do other things like morality, homophobia, fear of STD's and other risk factors.
