More options with polls.

Polls are a bit restrictive in what you can do with them.
I think it would be very nice if the following were possible:

• Allow more than 10 options;
• Add or edit a poll later after making a new thread;
• Delete a poll (or at least make it inactive/read-only) after some time;
• Make it impossible to view the votes/who else has voted before you have voted yourself;
• Make it possible to set the poll time in hours instead of days.

As answer in general, I believe that it's not possible to change the features of the polls. The main reason is because vBulletin uses plugins. Otherwise, the whole poll system must be created from scratch.

1 • Allow more than 10 options.
I'm not sure why you need more options. I think that a limit is in place so people don't post polls with 50 options or any other too high number.

2 • Add or edit a poll later after making a new thread.
You can add a poll after you made a new thread. Even when you didn't choose the poll option when you create the thread, you can add a poll by clicking on the Thread Tools and opt Add a Poll to this Thread. If you really want to change a poll that's already added, for instance, when you made a mistake, then you could message me.

3 • Delete a poll (or at least make it inactive/read-only) after some time.
You can set an end date. After the poll is closed, you get the poll results by default. Moreover, you can view the results regardless of whether you voted already. Just click on View Poll ResultsVote Now at the lower-right corner in the poll window.

4 • Make it impossible to view the votes/who else has voted before you have voted yourself.
Other websites can be used as well; to create a poll. Unfortunately, you'll have to put a link in your OP instead of using the poll feature. Though, I don't think that much people view the poll results before they vote.

5 • Make it possible to set the poll time in hours instead of days.
This would be handy, yes. But as far as I know, there's no other solution for this. You could always write an end date in your OP and round the number of your end date upwards in whole days.

Thank you for your answers. 10 options should be enough for most yes, but last time I needed 13 so I was just a little frustrated.

I know you can set an end date, but if you don't know up front if/when you'd want to delete it that will not help.

I didn't know you could add a poll after the fact. Can you even still add it if you cannot edit the OP anymore?

You can add a poll after the editing the OP expires. (I looked to see if the option was there in one of my old threads, and it was.) Under thread tools.
