also if you dont create an under 18 s/m section it would be a great idea if you created a teen only sections where we can just talk about life issues. when i talk about stuff like that it creeps me out when a 30 year old guy tries to talk to me. just an idea

At the end of the day, it is HIS site, which HE should have access to. Its just like saying you can't read part of your OWN journal. Moderators are there for a reason, and that is to protect the site. Actually... I don't think vBulletin allows you to hide sections from the creator.

And then the 'appoint mods' part. How would this be done in a fair way? (since mods fights over doings things so much. xD)

This idea, I like more. But I see this happening in the Lounge already, and older members doesn't seem to care if you're scared/ creeped out about them.

I seriously, seriously think I'm on the wrong side of this debate.

I've talked about this in the chat before. I absolutely agree, there should be an under 18 only section in the forums. I also think there should be an under 18 only chat, but that might be asking too much. Sometimes it's just too creepy when older people are mingling freely with much younger people in a forum (or in the chat) that can get pretty sexual by nature.

Could there be any negative effects from having an under 18 only section?

What creeps me out even more is when 30+ year old guys make teen accounts (often female ones) to chat bout s/m stuff with other kids. But since 95% of the staff (not even depp!) would not even access your "teen corner" then who would know?

when i said that i mean that depp would monitor over things he just wouldnt comment on stuff unless he was doing business or something. i just ment depp and the mods would still monitor just not participate iin the conversations. or you could just make mods just for that kind of section. sorry if i worded the thing about depp wrong. my bad. i kinda want depp to comment on this so he could give his opinion since its his site.

I hate creepy old people. Why do they have to ruin stuff.
I still think this'd be awesome. I know that I personally can tell if someone is creepy or if they're just creeping me out or annoying me and I'll ignore them. I think as long as you have common sense you should be fine but I feel that may be lacking with some of the younger members.
But just don't send people pictures, or tell them where you live and stuff like that.

a under 18 forum / area fantastic idea... but its only a idea it cant work. how do you prove that some one is under 18. over 18 is easy.

there was a social site. like my space but not... whos name i cannot remember had photos moderated. if you wanted to see the over 18 photos you had to go through a company who you paid x amount to. ( you cant see if you cant pay, you cant pay without a bank car, you dont have a bank card till you are 18.

there will always be those people who when they sign up to getdare put under 18 when their over 18 but i think a teen section would really decrease the amount of creepy guys commenting on our stuff. to answer your question when you sign up there is an age you must put in and we could use that age.
