Message in a Bottle/Treasure Hunt

I'm buying a message in a bottle as a leaving gift for a friend, and it inspired me to create a dare.

The concept is simple - you write a message, put it in a bottle and leave it somewhere.

But rather than any old random message, write something getDare/kink-related.

Maybe write the URL to the forums - a username too if you're daring. Maybe create an anonymous email address and write that on the message - you might get a kinky friend or something. Maybe write a dirty short story, or write your dirtiest fantasies. Be creative

Or, adapt it into a treasure hunt. Write various messages and put them into different bottles. (Make sure each message has a clue to where the next one is hidden.) Then, at the end, there could be a prize. Or something.

The message might be left unnoticed forever. The message may be found and you might gain something from it. There are a few possibilities and, regardless, it's just a bit of fun. (If you don't wanna use your own handwriting, simply type a message and print it.)

[Also, I recommend you use empty plastic bottles. Glass bottles can be dangerous and, meh, I just advise against glass bottles. In addition to this, please don't use this as an excuse to litter. I know it's boring to say this but it has to be said. Have fun but be sensible.]

I've decided to do my own dare. I've written just a few lines containing the link to this website and just a tease ("Can you find out who I am?") kinda thing. Here is the finished product...

Now to place it somewhere

Do you have a river or lake to get to? If so, you could let the bottle go sailing.

When I was eight I put a bottle with my name and address in the Monongahelia River in Pennsylvania. I dropped it from a bridge in the middle of the river. I never did get a message. At least not yet, but I'm no longer expecting one.

Maybe you will get a message "Please don't litter."

This idea might work, if we're talking about one bottle,a treasute hunt could hardly have any chance so as you don't want to waste your time..
However..it would be interesting to leave a bottle just like yours somewhere

Haha, that'd be quite an epic reply back.

And no. No water near me. But I want it to be seen so I'm toying with the idea of hanging it from a tree branch.

Yes, I understood, it would be really nice to know that somebody would join your game and try to find any other bottles but this is unlikely to happen

But I'll stop being pedantic and agree with ya. However, if you know some of your friends are kinky and you find spot-on locations for hiding messages, who knows?

I think it would be hard to ensure that the person who finds the first bottle would find the next consecutive bottle. Someone might wander by, find it, and read it. I love the message idea though, if I saw it, I would totally read it.

Fair point on that one. I suppose if you wanted to do the Treasure Hunt idea, you'd have to make every bottle message generic and add some sort of little disclaimer - "This is part of a game. If you've randomly found this, HI " - or something. Make it so that anyone can find it and not be confused xD

Also, a different idea I had. Instead of a message, why not leave a small prize in the one bottle? Leave a pair of underwear or a collar, maybe, or something

I really like this idea; I've been thinking of putting underwear in the bottle too... AND... every Saturday night a bunch of lads hang around near my building, in the same place every time... and I can see it from my balcony. Get in!!!

I will have to buy new knickers though, in case my bloke hears shouting, looks out, and recognises them

Watching their reaction would be priceless Though possible a little mortifying depending on what they do with them....

I like this idea though, might actually do it, not sure, but maybe. (The original idea I mean xD, don't need people wandering around with my undies )

i like this one! i have my message written out (a story with a little message before & after). now i just have to find a bottle. you don't realize how hard it is to find a simple bottle on a college campus during the summer when they're switching all the vending machines over from coke to pepsi and none of them have drinks in them yet/anymore until you desperately want or need a bottle.
