Subscriptions

Hello,

I have been sitting around doing nothing as usual and started thinking about subscriptions to threads. I decided that it would be nice to be able to subscribe to a thread and get instant notification only when the original author of the thread posted. I belove that this would be of use in the story section as sometimes I would like instant notification when the story is updated, but not when a comment is posted.

I also belive that it would be useful to have this notification pop up on the same place that you get notified of visitor and private messages and all of that stuff.

Just a suggestion, don't rip into it too badly please

I never use subscriptions myself, however can see how it could be useful for some.

With stories can see where it would be useful for some authors etc. However most authors post several thanks / messages - info etc on there story that isn't the story itself.

I personally only post story parts on the story page itself. Meaning its hopefully easier to read as well as if i have posted on story - there is a new part.

I also message everyone thats commented since the previous story part - therefore if this was done it would save me a little time, providing people subscribed.

So not to bad a suggestion - however if it is required- or an important suggestion is something different.

That would be good for more than just story posts. This is a good idea for TorD request, and "looking for slave/master" sorts of threads. I'm sure this would get used more than the regular "subscribe to thread" option, at least by me!

That's a pretty good idea. I don't usually use the subscriptions much, but this would definitely be useful in certain scenarios. :O

I think this is a fab idea, I have to go all the way to my User CP to see my subscribed threads. This would be a nice little thing to have, pretty helpful.

I was thinking the exact same thing over the last few days, it would work amazing for those '___ Until next post' if it popped in in the middle of the screen.

I'd definitely use them, and hope it gets added!
