How big of a glass of water should I use? (like if it says I need to drink 4 glasses of water, how much does that mean?)

After going through several 6 hr trips in the car and not ever having a problem. I come to this and I go 6hr in normal with drinking 2 glasses every hour and I lost it now I have to keep these stupid cloths on for 12 hrs. Oh and by the way I switch off water and cola every hour and I think that is what did it.
